PROJECT
The Greenspace Project is a commitment to preserving and accessing Mumbai’s public green spaces (forests, gardens, mangroves, and more) to promote health and enjoyment among all its residents, safeguard the city from flooding, enhance Mumbai’s coastal integrity and air quality, and potentially offset the emissions created by rapid urbanization.
Mumbai is a coastal city facing the challenges of coastal erosion, increasing flooding, and rising temperatures. Mumbai's concrete urban structure and high population density also create an intense heat island effect. As a resident of Mumbai, I enjoy its beautiful open spaces and am passionate about preserving and expanding them as the city adapts to address the impacts of climate change.
MOTIVATION FOR AND COMMITMENT TO CREATING A BETTER AND MORE SUSTAINABLE PLANET
I believe climate change is the most pressing challenge of our time, and climate solutions can be at the core of improving overall human well-being. I am interested in engaging in climate conversations and pursuing solutions in the faith of a better world for all of us.
