General Director, Economy and Innovation, Lisbon City Council

Ana Margarida Figueiredo, Economist (Lisbon University / ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management), is currently the General Director for Economy and Innovation in the Lisbon City Council. She is responsible for the areas of Economy, Investment, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Knowledge, Strategic Clusters and Employment in the City Council.

In the area of entrepreneurship she participated in the rising of Lisboa’s ecosystem and she has been involved, among many other projects and programs, in the launch of the first very relevant business incubator – STARTUP LISBOA; the community and platform of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Lisbon – MADE OF LISBOA; or in LISBOA EMPREENDE - a responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship program, created by the Lisbon City Council with public and private organizations, to increase city's economy by supporting the creation of small businesses. Before being Director, she was Chief Financial Officer in URBAFRICA and UCCLA , two development NGOs.
