Maribel Zamata studied during her school stage in the district of Villa El Salvador, where she currently lives. Later, she studied production mechanics at the Universidad Nacional de Educación - Enrique Guzmán y Valle. She is currently engaged in teaching and innovation of products and processes for the treatment of organic waste.
The Hatun Apu project aims to value organic waste through containers to be composted within the city, and thus promote composting networks in homes and markets.
MOTIVATION FOR AND COMMITMENT TO CREATING A BETTER AND MORE SUSTAINABLE PLANET
Her main motivation is the garden that her parents had during her childhood. With the birth of her first child, and living in the limits of Villa El Salvador, she did not accept the idea of living without a garden like hers, so this project encourages her to continue recovering waste that has great potential to nourish the earth. The project is not an individual, it is the sum of forces and commitments to achieve a more sustainable world.
