CAMILLE CHARDAYRE &
Camille Chardayre and Amandine Langlois founded the studio Premices and co in 2013, as an agency to promote the circular economy through participative projects focused on recycling and reusing. Both women designers graduated from Ecole Boulle in Paris. Camille is more pragmatic and is comfortable with field projects, Amandine is good with theories and strategies. Camille has broad experience with architectural projects and is involved in feminist and cultural associative activities in Paris (Barbieturix, La Louve). Amandine specialized in industrial design at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan. She is currently finishing a PHD about tactical urbanism.
Pierre Plume (previously Béton de Chiffon) (http://premicesandco.com/projets/beton-de-chiffon/), is comprised of decorative and acoustic wall tiles made with 100% recycled fabrics, from old clothes or industrial scums. Each year in France, one person discards on average 11 kilogrammes of clothes. While most of recycled textiles are only used for padding or insulation, Camille and Amandine decided to put their design expertise to unveiling their aesthetic potential. As well as engineering, they believe that design skills could help to open up prospects in textile recycling.
