Project: Ecotable

Fanny Giansetto defended her Law PhD thesis in 2016 at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne on sovereign debt issues. She regularly teaches at the university, participates in research projects and works for law firms or NGOs. She is also involved in an NGO called Notre affaire à tous which aims at engaging legal actions for climate justice.


As part of C40, Fanny founded a social business called Ecotable. She is now developing it with the help of the Women4Climate initiative. The urbanization process has disconnected the citizens of the earth. A large number of people living in cities are not conscious of how the food that they eat is produced. Ecotable label has the ambition of informing customers on the environmental impact of restaurants and empower them to make appropriate food choices regarding the planet but also their health. In addition to this, the label will help restaurants in their ecological transition and promote them. The whole idea is for our food system to become more local, sustainable and for people to have better food for their health.


My passion for creating a better and more sustainable planet is reflected through three existing commitments I have taken on as well as one project I would like to develop. Firstly, I have always supported local and sustainable agriculture. I strongly believe that the way the world’s food is being produced changes the environment and people’s lives. Therefore, I joined an “Amap” in my district to encourage ecological farming in the Ile-de-France region and to participate in farm life. Secondly, I have enrolled at the Paris city level in creating in January 2016 a twitter account called “Greenwatching75”. The idea was to call out bad environmental practices in order to bring changes. However, I quickly realized it was not sufficient. From denunciating, I went to committing myself directly to sustainable projects. I presented a project to the Paris participative budget which was attributed the amount of 1,500,000€ with other similar projects.
