Sally Capp is the first woman to take the position of Lord Mayor of Melbourne in almost three decades. Since her graduation from the University of Melbourne, Sally was the first woman to hold the post of Agent-General for Victoria in the UK, Europe and Israel as well as serving as the CEO for the Committee for Melbourne. Other roles include her senior posts at KPMG and ANZ as a solicitor and the first female board member of the Collingwood Football Club. She identified managing population growth, supporting major infrastructure projects, and reducing homelessness as key priorities during her time serving. Mayor Capp was elected in May 2018 and has committed to riding her bike to and from the office in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.
